The Google Play Store is going live on the Asus Chromebook Flip

Just as promised at its I/O conference, the Play Store is making its first appearance on a .

The Asus Flip is the first device to get access, available in the developer channel version of 53. ’s Fançois Beaufort posted the evidence of his own laptop, complete with a ready-to-play version of the popular Clash Royale.

The Chromebook Flip, Acer Chromebook R11/CT738T, and 2015 Pixel are the first three devices scheduled to get the Play Store. Then it will come to a larger batch of laptops and Chromebox PCs later in 2016, according to Google. 

Why this matters: devs see a lot of opportunity with the chance to bring their apps to OS. Even though Google executives at a demo in May said the feature “just works,” it still may take some time before developers can fully optimize apps built for a touchscreen device onto a more traditional laptop.
